The CEO of Reviver Auto, Neville Boston, sought out ways to simplify the registration method for vehicles. He wanted to create a process that would update the whole process electronically and automatically, but it took years before he was able to develop the idea of an RPlate Pro, a digital license plate into a reality. While Boston claims that he worked with the DMV like partners, the process still cannot be skipped, so he took his time to perfect the automation.
Works Like A Kindle, But For Cars, The Reviver Auto RPlate Pro is a digital license plate available in California. It uses a technology called e-ink technology similar to Kindle e-readers, that displays registration dates and licensed plate numbers in black and white. Drivers can use its RConnect platform to update, renew and pay the DMV online.
The plate eliminates the need to wait for stickers to be sent to them or make a physical appearance at the DMV by automatically changing the dates on the digital media. It can be easily connected to a car’s battery, but the display takes no power. So no matter what happens, it will always be on display. It sends a text message to the owner if someone takes it off the plate without permission and it will display the word “STOLEN,” and the location can be tracked via the RConnect online platform. Citizens are calling it the smart plate!
Special Plates For Every Occasion Owners have the option to display different plates like the ones that support causes for breast cancer awareness as well as sports teams. There’s a special plate for every occasion, and it will be priced allowing states to earn more. They can also use these as a way to do broadcast weather warnings or Amber Alerts for increased safety measures. Owners can have an unlimited amount of specialty plates as they desire and States who are currently or will apply Boston’s product can earn revenue for specialty plates. Drivers or Entrepreneurs can also put their ads on it too.
Companies who own delivery trucks can have their plates displayed with their ads for maximum marketing. Whether a truck is moving or parked, it’s still an excellent opportunity to spread a company’s message across. Entities/individuals owning a fleet of cars might see a lot of advantages here since registration can be renewed remotely, even if its operating miles away. They can also track down the location of trucks at any given time and pay toll fees via the plates. Boston adds that they are working on a new update that will apply parking meters.
