Car enthusiasts from around the world celebrated as official news broke out that the next-gen 2020 Chevrolet Corvette model is taking a massive switch to a mid-engined layout. General Motors have shown photos of the new Corvette C8 with camouflage prototype, and it looked exactly like the spy photos that have been circulating for quite some time.
The New Corvette C8 will make its debut on July 18, 2019, and will be on sale before the year ends. GM says that the Corvette and its new generation is designed to reach out to the new generation. A lot of enthusiasts and experts have long been talking about this new model and speculations of it being mid-engined, for five years, they weren’t wrong! Chevrolet has finally dropped the bomb, and everyone is quite happy about it.
While most car enthusiasts and experts probably have seen the spy photos of a low-slung C8 silhouette with its widely different proportions, the first official photos of the cars have already been released by Chevrolet. For the first time, they have acknowledged the existence of the automobile industry’s worst-kept secret.
General Motors CEO, Mary Barra made the announcement while at the Siller Foundation Charity Gala in New York. She had the opportunity to experience a ride inside the Corvette. It was driven by the model’s chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
The car brand is still silent on the new model’s specification, but spy photos are doing a great job of giving hints about the C8s powertrains and what not. If you can’t wait for Chevrolet to release its specifications then you better look across the internet for some spy photos!
